About Carol Klingel
I am an artist-teacher living in rural Northeastern Ohio. Nature and seasons surround me and provide me with endless inspiration and subject matter. I only have to look outside my studio window or venture into the wild backyard to fill my eyes and heart with wonderful, sometimes very ordinary, things to see and do. Shadows falling from trees, bushes, chairs, buildings, animals, vegetables, and the light that peeks through and coaxes those shadows are endlessly fascinating to me. My subjects tend to the ordinary, but that is where I find the extraordinary.
Over the years I have been in many group and solo shows, juried and invitational, including the Canton Art Museum, The Butler Museum Midyear Show, Kent State University alumni show, Akron Summit Artspace's Fresh, Kaleidoscope, and Artists of Rubber City shows, where I have been a multiple award winner, as well as at my local Medina County Art League's Aquarius Show, which includes People's Choice twice, Best of Show, and First place twice.
Memberships and associations include Kent's Group Ten Gallery, Akron Society of Artists, Artists of Rubber City, and I am a former member of Ohio Art Education Association and National Art Education Association.
In addition to appreciating and learning from many other artists, both in person and via podcasts, I find that painting, critiquing, discussing, and experimenting with new materials are fine ways to live my life.
